Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the characterization of M. Drahomanov's scientific, educational, pedagogical and public activities during the Kyiv period of life. Based on the modern vision, the main vectors of the research, teaching and social work of the Ukrainian thinker are discovered, and factors influencing the formation of the worldview of M. Drahomanov have been identified. The activities and views of M. Drahomanov in the Kyiv period of life thinkers are little-studied Ukrainian researchers, many previous attempts to study this issue was carried out even in the Soviet era. The formation of the worldview of M. Drahomanov during the period of childhood and adolescence is considered. M. Drahomanov was born in one of the intelligent families of Gadyach, whose members were not indifferent to socially important events. M. Drahomanov from childhood was interested in books and periodicals subscribed by his father. The communication of M. Drahomanov's father with people of intellectual work was stimulated by the curiosity of the future thinker to the surrounding world. The traineeship and teaching activity of M. Drahomanov is monitored. In 1859, Sunday schools began to function in Kyiv to teach them children of unknown origin. The opening of schools coincided in time with the move of M. Drahomanov to Kyiv for the purpose of obtaining education at St. Volodymyr's University. Since Sunday schools did not last long, M. Drahomanov continued teaching at the Temporary Pedagogical School for the training of village teachers. Beginning in 1864 to work at the University of Kyiv, M. Drahomanov began to teach the history of the Ancient World in a new position. Conducting speculative parallels between the events that took place in the ancient world and those social phenomena in the middle of the nineteenth century, which were of greatest concern to the thinker, testify to the indifferent attitude of the scientist to the problems of his people.
