The thesis is devoted to the socio-geographical study of public transport in Kyiv. Based on the analysis of previous studies, the main research approaches of socio-geographical study of urban public transport are systemized. The place of geography of urban public transport in the hierarchical structure of geographical sciences is determined. The current directions of foreign and Ukrainian geographical researches of urban public transport are analyzed, and the main scientific schools of transport geography are characterized.
