Essay

Thesis is devoted to the research of problems of youth organizations of Ukraine in the context of social and political life in 2004‒2014. For the first time systematization of available scientific works, archival documents and materials of newspaper journalism is carried out at the present stage of state formation. Thesis comprehensively reveals the source base of the study, which allows to comprehensively track the leading trends in youth organizations in the context of socio-political processes in Ukraine in 2004‒2014, to reveal in detail the interactions in the triangle state - political parties - youth organizations. The main features of the gradual institutionalization of youth associations are clarified in the work. The main periods of development of youth movements are established and the legislative and normative-legal base which has regulated youth policy in Ukraine is opened. The main trends of activation of state institutions in solving the youth issue are clarified, the legislative and normative-legal bases of activity of youth organizations, their development and problems of modernization are characterized. It was established that most of the documents adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine were to address the socio-economic problems of young people and were adopted in the context of the election process. The peculiarities of the implementation of the state youth policy in 2005‒2013 are highlighted, the characteristic obstacles that hindered the development of youth organizations and movements are revealed, the main directions of activity of the state authorities in the field of youth policy are established. It is proved that the events of the Orange Revolution led to a rethinking of the role of youth organizations in socio-political processes, and the state tried to solve key political, socio-economic, educational and cultural problems of youth. The dissertation considers the main stages and directions of activity of youth organizations at the beginning of the XXI century, the tendency of activation of protest youth in Ukraine is revealed. The periods of the greatest surge of activity of youth organizations are established, and also their participation in key social and political processes of the country are reflected. The European integration potential of youth organizations during 2004‒2014 is noted. The main vectors of youth organizations and their participation in the revolutionary events of 2004 and 2013‒2014 are considered. It is established that youth movements became the main driving force of revolutionary changes due to the lack of rational domestic policy, including youth, that created the basis for radicalization of youth. The special emphasis in thesis is made on the international activity of youth organizations. Given the globalization and prospects of integration into the Euro-Atlantic area, the participation of Ukrainian youth in European programs can be traced, the results of international humanitarian, educational, cultural, socio-political cooperation are summed up, the prospects of cooperation of domestic youth organizations with European ones are outlined. The author reveals the characteristics, forms of organization of youth movements and organizations and their participation in socio-political processes. The peculiarities of the student movement in Ukraine, their intensification during the revolutions of 2004 and 2013‒2014 are studied, the role of youth organizations in the formation of civil society is noted. A prominent place is given to youth organizations that position themselves with democratic and European integration movements. The forms of youth participation in the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity are considered, a comparative analysis of the protest movements that contributed was conducted. formation of a positive image of Ukraine abroad and a democratic offensive of society, deepening of European integration processes. Youth organizations in the proposed work are considered as the driving force of development of Ukrainian society, its democratization. In the period between the two revolutions of 2004‒2014, the youth segment was not only active in the political arena, but also gradually institutionalized. Thus, young people have become not only the object of state policy, but also its subject. In the crisis of the political system of Ukraine, youth organizations have become the driving force of transformational and revolutionary processes and have proven their ability to influence the formation of foreign and domestic policy of Ukraine.
