The dissertation is devoted to the research of social and organizational principles in the formation of approaches to improving the quality management mechanisms of the retail segment of pharmaceutical care as a component of social pharmacy. Content analysis of scientific and practical areas of research in the field of social pharmacy has been conducted. The current state of pharmaceutical care and development of social pharmacy in Ukraine and the world has been studied. The legal framework of pharmacists’ professional duties and legal liability has been investigated. The main problematic issues of professional responsibility of pharmaceutical workers have been generalized and the ways of their solution has been offered. A questionnaire survey of pharmaceutical workers and consumers of medicines on their satisfaction with the quality of pharmaceutical supply to the population was conducted and the results were evaluated. A list of medicines with sound-alike trade names has been formed. Recommendations have been developed to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care to the population by reducing the risks associated with sound-alike medicine names. A method for classifying medication errors in the retail sale of medicines is proposed. Forms of a medication error card that occurred during the retail sale of medicines and a card to provide information to the patient and / or his representative about a medication error have been developed. Improved automated information system for pharmacovigilance by adding information about medication errors, based on the developed cards. Approbation of the developed methodology of classification and monitoring system of medication errors has been carried out. A model for preventing medication errors in the retail sale of medicines has been proposed.
