Object of study: the process of the formation of the Bolshevik power monopoly in the Soviet Ukraine as a component of the totalitarian regime. Subject of study: the activities of the Bolshevik party and state authorities with the use of a complex of socio-political and forceful methods aimed at eliminating the centers of non-Bolshevik parties and organizations in Poltava region during the 1920s. The aim of the study: the analysis of the process, specific methods and consequences of the formation of a one-party Bolshevik dictatorship within Poltava region during the 1920s. Results of the research: the dissertation research reveals the specifics of the ascent of the cells of the Ukrainian pro-Soviet left-wing radical parties from the political arena of Poltava region (the Ukrainian Party of Socialist-Revolutionary-Borotbists, the Ukrainian Party of the Left Socialist Revolutionaries (the Borbysts), The Ukrainian Communist Party), the methods of elimination and liquidation of the cells of socialist political forces (social democrats (Mensheviks), right and left socialist revolutionaries), anarchist organizations were clarified, the peculiarities of neutralization and defeat of the Zionist movement are studied, convergence of Jewish left-wing pro-Soviet parties (Jewish Communist Party, Jewish Social Democratic Labour Party). It is established that most branches of non-Bolshevik parties and organizations ceased to exist by the mid-1920s. But at the same time, the branches of underground Zionist organizations proved to be flexible to repression by the authorities and continued to exist until the end of the 1920s. At the same time, the mechanisms and structural components of the Bolshevik system for counteracting ideological allies and political opponents within the region are analyzed. It is investigated that administrative, ideological propagandistic and repressive methods were used in the process of struggle against opponents and allies. In particular, it has been proven that one of the key tools for prosecuting, neutralizing and eliminating opponents were the Soviet state security services (The All-Russian Extraordinary Commission – the All-Ukrainian Extraordinary Commission – The State Political Directorate) which used repressive and operational-agent methods. It was shown that the ideological paradigm of the Bolsheviks was focused on the dictatorship of their own political force. Practical measures to eliminate the branches of non-Bolshevik parties and organizations, even those that had common features of ideological and political platform, had an offensive repressive nature and ended with the establishment of the Bolshevik power monopoly in Poltava region. Scope of use: the results of the research can be used in writing of special and generalizing works on the history of Ukraine, history of Poltava region, political history, training courses on the history of Ukraine in the XX century for the higher education applicants.
