Buchasta S. Creation and development of military settlement infrastructure of cavalry on the territory of the Slobidsko-Ukrainian (Kharkiv) province in 1817-1864.

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive examination of one of the aspects of the impact of military settlements at the beginning of the 19th century on the socio-economic development of Ukrainian territories, namely, the study of the process of creation and development of the infrastructure of a military cavalry settlement within a separate regional entity, which was located on the territory of modern Kharkiv, Lugansk and Donetsk regions. An complex analysis of the available data allowed us to conclude that this process took place at several levels: geo planning, town-planning, and directly architectural constructional (objectal). It had significant differences within a regional settlement, experienced significant transformations over time and was effective. For the first time, it was proved that the creation of the military settlements infrastructure was associated with a change in the system of territorial settlement of a part of the Kharkiv province, a unified list of the main infrastructure facilities of a military settlement was established and its general characteristics were given, the dynamics of the facilities structure was traced, a large amount of cartographic material and architectural graphics were revealed and published.
