Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the issue of ecological education of intellectually gifted high school students in extracurricular activities of general secondary education institutions on the basis of a holistic analysis of the source base of the research; theoretically substantiated: the author's concept of «project-task approach»; project-based approach in environmental education of gifted high school students in extracurricular activities; model of ecological education of gifted high school students in extracurricular activities on the basis of project-based approach; identified and structured: elements of environmental competence that are formed in the process of project environmental activities of gifted high school students; the levels of formation of elements of ecological competence in the project activity of intellectually gifted high school students are singled out. The program of the optional course of ecological direction «Ecological problems of the present, 10-11 classes», calculated for two academic years, is developed and introduced in practice of establishments of general secondary education; created a set of environmental projects and the algorithm for their implementation, guidelines for teachers in order to form the environmental competence of intellectually gifted students; source base and theoretical results of the dissertation can be used in the educational process of general secondary education, in particular during the teaching of subjects «Biology and Ecology», «Chemistry», as well as in the educational process of higher education during the preparation and conduct of lectures, practical classes from disciplines: «Methods of teaching biology and science», «Modern technologies of teaching biology», «Methods of teaching chemistry», «Methodology and organization of scientific research».
