Essay

The dissertation presents a comprehensive analysis of the system of future primary school teachers’ training for musical and aesthetic education of students in Ukraine in the second half of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st century. The study identified the basic concepts that reveal the essence of musical and aesthetic education of students in primary schools of Ukraine in the second half of the XXth – early XXIst century, which allowed to present their interpretation and define three groups of basic concepts: unified, pedagogical, musical and aesthetic. Three stages of training of future elementary teachers for music-aesthetic education of pupils in Ukraine in the second half of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st century are identified and substantiated: The first stage, which covers 1950–1976 years, is the formation of the training of future elementary school teachers for music-aesthetic education of pupils, which accounts for the restoration of the education system in the postwar period. The second stage – 1976–1991 years – is the stability in the training of future primary school teachers for music-aesthetic education of pupils, which is characterized by «stagnation» in reforming the education system of the USSR. The third stage – 1991–2016 years – is the modernization of training of future elementary school teachers for music-aesthetic education of pupils, which includes the period of independent Ukraine as an independent state. The practical significance of the results is to develop and implement research results in the educational process of training future teachers of primary school and music in teaching disciplines: «History of Pedagogy», «Introduction into the specialty» «Theory and methods of education», «Methods of leisure activities for children», «Methods of teaching the educational field of art», «Fundamentals of teaching art disciplines in higher education», «Theory and practice of music and aesthetic education». Factual material and source base of research can serve as a basis for supplementing and updating their content, be used in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education to train future teachers in 013 Primary Education and 014 Secondary Education (Musical art) and their advanced training.
