Essay

The thesis is devoted to solving a scientific and practical problem on the development and research of energy-saving electric drives of electric rolling stock with traction motors of mixed excitation, which provides a reduction in electricity consumption. It has been found a direction for improving the speed control circuits of mixed-field DC motors using a DC-DC converter, based on the analysis of various methods of field weakening. In this case, the field weakening of the TEM of mixed excitation is provided by changing the current in the shunt winding, which magnetizing force is directed oppositely to magnetizing force of the serial winding.
