Pashkova O. Military-patriotic education of cadets of the higher military educational institutions of Ukraine (1991–2019)

Based on a comprehensive analysis and study of many sources in the dissertation performed a scientific task, which was to disclosure of the process of formation and transformation of military-patriotic education of cadets of higher military educational institutions of Ukraine and its development in the context of armed aggression of the Russian Federation, establishment of features and tendencies of this process in the interests of further development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The paper determines the state of scientific development of the topic and describes the source base of the study. The historical preconditions of the origin of military-patriotic education in Ukraine are considered, the author's periodization of its formation and development in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is offered. Peculiarities of activity of higher military educational establishments in the matter of military-patriotic education of cadets in the conditions of long armed aggression of the Russian Federation are defined, namely: restoration and creation of educational and research divisions for carrying out military-historical researches and introduction of their results in educational process. military educational institutions; study and implementation of the experience of the anti-terrorist operation / Joint Forces operation in the educational process through changes in curricula and programs; renewal of visual agitation, expositions of military museums, rooms of traditions, libraries of institutions. The main trends in the development of military-patriotic education in higher military educational institutions of Ukraine in the period 2014–2019 have been established: improvement of the domestic regulatory framework; improvement of the qualitative characteristics of the participants of the educational process; increasing the role and place of military history in educational and upbringing processes; establishment of systematic military-historical work in higher military educational institutions in the conditions of armed aggression against Ukraine. Recommendations for the implementation of the obtained results in the practical activities of higher military educational institutions of Ukraine, in particular for increasing the role of historical disciplines.
