Ilin M. Psychological infantilism as a factor in personality self-presentation

The dissertation presents a theoretical and empirical analysis of the problem of infantilism, identifies the main approaches to its study. The phenomenon of infantilism in the medical and psychological literature is studied and the socio-psychological factors of infantilism development are considered. The structure of psychological infantilism represented by the following patterns: primitive neurotic impulsivity, symbiotic rigid interpersonally, offended non-contact, narcissistic position, shock by the shortcomings of the environment, intimidation, hypocritical superficiality, self-justifying monologues. It was revealed that the models of psychological infantilism of representatives of the Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean and North American cultural traditions have specific cultural determinants. The program of social and psychological training on correction of infantilism of the person and development of adequate models of self-presentation is developed.
