The dissertation is a social and philosophical study of the territorial community as a component of the functioning of the modern society. Specificity of the social-philosophical analysis of the territorial community is determined; the basic stages of formation of a territorial community are revealed, a categorical circle is revealed, which reveals its essence; elucidates the functions and human dimension of the local community.
The relevance of the research topic is that the analysis of social processes is an urgent task of socio-philosophical intelligence, so it is important to clarify the essential characteristics and perspectives of changes in the functioning of territorial communities іn modern Ukraine. The problem of the territorial community concerns the daily life of15 each of its inhabitants and it is appropriate to highlight the directions of development of this social formation. The modernization of the social space involves reformatting its components, updating the principles of functioning and the list of social services provided. Important in this aspect is the understanding of Ukrainian experience in organizing a territorial community. The reflection of the phenomenon of territorial communities as a modernized institute of traditional Ukrainian culture seems relevant. The purpose of the dissertation is social and philosophical understanding of the territorial community.
Fruitful in the socio-philosophical discourse is the consideration of the genesis of the territorial community as a socio-cultural phenomenon caused by historical, formation and civilization factors. Within the framework of such a research paradigm, the isolation and general characterization of the territorial community of the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, Modern Times and the Market-Modern Epoch is a good one. The territorial community as a socio-cultural phenomenon has passed in its development stages from the neighborhood community in the primitive society to the self-governing social unit, the constructive functioning of which serves as the basis for the development of the state, society as a whole and its individual regions in particular.
Understanding the concept of "territorial community" as a socio-philosophical category, which denotes a stable, historically conditioned, based on spatial, economic, cultural, ethnic, social, political, moral and other principles, community of people. It is self-sufficient and autonomous. The territorial community is a social monad with a certain socio-cultural potential and social capital. This is sufficient to integrate this concept into the system of modern socio-philosophical knowledge. The internal structure of the concept of "territorial community" includes the following implications: the territorial community as a whole material system, as a component of sociality, culture, integrity of society.
Attributes of the territorial community are: the tradition of origin and functioning, the status of the community as the main element of economic and social structure of society, territorial localization and administrative and economic autonomy, the basis for the formation and existence of an ethnic community or several ethnic groups, a certain openness about the process of reproduction of the gene. The formation of territorial communities is determined by a certain space (territory), ethnic, religious, demographic, economic, social, political, value factors. In the evolution of the territorial community there is a contradiction between, on the one hand, the desire to preserve integrity, a
certain level of seclusion, autonomy, a separate production cycle and, on the other hand, involvement in the external social space through a wide range of connections with other social actors.
Traditional territorial (both rural, settlement, and local) communities fulfill important traditional and new socio-economic and spiritual-political functions.Overcoming, to some extent, the alienation of humans from the effects of the aggressive global environment is one of the main ones. The territorial community acts as a social refuge, where a person gets the opportunity to take advantage of social infrastructure,
geographical location, natural environment and where a person feels a sense of solidarity, pride in being involved in the community of this territory. In a territorial community, a person adds his or her efforts to joint actions leading to an increase in the capacity and efficiency of the territorial community. It is revealed that the realization of human-creating and human-dimensional activities of the territorial community involves the creation of a social space suitable for a full human life and aimed at increasing the scope of human freedom in the context of the exercise of its essential forces.
The determinants of optimizing the functioning of a territorial community in the context of territorial reform and decentralization of power in Ukrainian society have been determined.
