Yatsyuk K. Development of phytosubstances and granules with Сranberry fruits for the prevention and treatment of urinary tract infections

The thesis is devoted to the development of optimal technology and research of phytosubstances and granules with Cranberries fruits for the prevention and treatment of the urinary tract infections. Literature data on the etiology, classification, diagnosis, and treatment of urinary tract infections (UTI) in general and cystitis in particular have been analysed. The data of the literature on botanical characteristics, chemical composition and use of Cranberry in folk and official medicine are generalized. Types of proanthocyanidins (PA) and the possibilities of their use for the treatment of various diseases are characterized. Due to the rich content of PA, Cranberry fruits are a promising source for the development of new drugs for the UTI prevention and treatment. In order to develop a waste-free processing of Cranberry fruits, data on different drying methods have been systematized.
