In the study the problem of biology teachers’ professional-and-terminological competence formation in the process of their vocational training has been investigated and a new approach to its solution by means of introduction of certain methodology for the development of the above-mentioned phenomenon has been proposed. The theoretical aspects of future biology teachers’ professional-and-terminological competence formation in the process of their vocational training have been studied; its content, structure, criteria and indicators has been determined. The pedagogical conditions have been theoretically substantiated, the methodology for the formation of future biology teachers’ professional-and-terminological competence in the process of their vocational training has been modeled. The content of the pedagogical experiment aimed at the verification of the proposed formative means has been highlighted. Special courses “Latin. Botanical terminology” and “Phytoecology” with a range of guidelines for their teaching, as well as a bank of educational, methodological and diagnostic materials for lecturers of higher educational institutions have been developed.
