Essay

The historical and pedagogical analysis is carried out in the work and the solution of the problem of integral reproduction of pedagogical, socioeducational activity, scientific and pedagogical heritage of P. Shevchenko is offered for comprehensive actualization of his contribution to the development of domestic pedagogy of the second half of the XX century. On the basis of system-chronological, biographical, personalized, axiological, phenomenological, paradigmatic, regional, hermeneutic and prognostic approaches and a system of scientific and pedagogical methods (search-bibliographic, terminological analysis, personalistic-bibliographic, structural-logical, comparative-analytical, periodization), six groups of sources are distinguished (archival documents; normative legal acts; materials restoring the biography of P. Shevchenko, authentic sources, sources of scientific and theoretical nature and oral sources), historical and pedagogical interpretation of them allowed to establish theoretical and methodological principles and clarify the essence of basic research concepts; to establish and characterize the periods and directions of organizational and pedagogical and socioeducational activity of P. I. Shevchenko; identify and systematize the leading pedagogical ideas of the facilitator and scientist on the educational process in secondary and higher institutions of education; to highlight and substantiate pedagogical ideas of P. I. Shevchenko relevant for modern education and pedagogical science. Pedagogical ideas of P. I. Shevchenko which remain relevant for modern education and pedagogical science are highlighted. The analysis of the scientific works of P. Shevchenko leads to the assertion that leading ideas formulated by the educationist have an echo in the development of domestic education and Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical University in particular. Thus, the ideas of work education / training related to the systematic organization in the school of vocational guidance work, which are in line with modern concepts of special school and dual education. The importance of multifaceted educational work with pupils / students, using the pedagogy of the past, is unquestionable, relevant in the present conditions is the problem of preparing a teacher for creative professional activity, as evidenced by the “Concept for the development of pedagogical education” adopted in 2018.
