Bondarenko A. Development of the composition and technology of plant syrup for the treatment of colds

For the first time, the process of plantain leaves, ivy, and sage leaves extraction on Timatic Micro series laboratory extractor (Technolab, Italy) was studied, the optimal extraction time, the ratio of raw materials to extractant, compression-decompression parameters have been established. For the first time, based on the results of physicochemical, pharmaco-technological, and pharmacological studies, the composition and technology of the syrup which includes a complex plant extract have been scientifically and experimentally justified. Methods of identification and quantitative determination of biologically active substances in the preparation have been developed, which allow controlling its quality and stability during production and storage. The results of pharmacological (expectorant and anti-inflammatory activity) and microbiological (microbiological purity) studies of the medicinal syrup have been generalized. Based on the studies, the projects of technical regulations and QCM of plant-based drug «Planhesal» in the form of a syrup to treat colds and coughs have been developed. The developed drug has been tested in industrial conditions of production at PJSC SIC «Borshchahivskiy CPP», Kyiv.
