Essay

The dissertation provides a comprehensive cultural and philosophical analysis of marginal consciousness as a factor in the existing transformations and the emergence of new forms of Ukrainian socioculture as a borderline, close to critical. The proposed borderline is a special mode of transition and is associated with the risk of avalanche-like development of total marginalization of society. The presence of a wide range of problems related not only to culturology, but also to social philosophy, philosophical anthropology, philosophy of religion led to the use in the dissertation of interdisciplinary and comprehensive methodological approaches based on basic principles. It is emphasized that knowledge of the essential nature of the phenomenon, marginality in its content and functions makes real understanding of socio-historical processes of both the past and present from new positions. This is due to the fact that marginality as a phenomenon in human and social terms is a phenomenon of eternal, transitional, not temporary, it is constantly changing itself and changes the surrounding social reality at the same time. It is argued that understanding the phenomenon of marginality in its holistic basis can serve as one of the elements of forecasting and analysis of possible future development of individual social structures in particular and entire systems in general. It is emphasized that the trends of global development show that in the next decade the phenomenon of marginality does not disappear from the social horizon. It was found that marginality and related problems will be more intense in the social space due to the acceleration of socio-historical development of both individuals and social groups, as emphasized in the past, and the world as a whole. It is investigated that depending on the socio-historical conditions and circumstances, marginality can be both constructive for the individual and society, and destructive, close to anomie. But in any direction, marginality acts as one of the conditions for human self-determination in the world of consciousness and in the social space. This makes it possible to freely construct the individual himself, and through himself and the social reality that surrounds him. It is argued that the phenomenon of marginality can be a factor in human self-destruction turning him into a deviant person.
