Essay

The purpose of the dissertation research is carrying out a socio-philosophical analysis of the project ‘Spiritual Medicine’ by the prominent Persian philosopher-physician, the scientist-encyclopedist of the Middle Ages Abu Bakr ar-Razi, an explication of this set of ideas as a sociocultural universals in modern civilizational contexts. The scientific originality of the received results is the essence and content of the ideological complex (project) of ‘Spiritual Medicine’ that are presented for the first time in the socio-philosophical outlook. The defined prospects for enriching the ideas and practices of the holistic project ‘spiritual medicine’ of modern philosophy of health (physical, mental, spiritual, social), bioethical paradigm, medical axiology, social ecology, etc. are determined. The principles of harmonious interaction of intellectuals and power in the Arab-Muslim world in the Muslim Renaissance and ways to apply these principles in achieving social balance, sustainable and progressive development of society at all levels (individual - community (urban community) - society as a whole) are studied. The project of ‘spiritual medicine’ was reactivated in the situation of the pandemic COVID-19, global medicalization of the public sphere and rapid technification of medicine.
