Kozyura I. The Development of Historical Study of poltava Region in the 20-3-s of the XX Century

The historical and regional study activity of museum and archival establishments, scientific associations, educational institutions. local researchers of poltava area and their efforts for preservation and popularization of historical and cultural heritage in the 20s-30s of the XX centery were considered in the paper.On the basis of broad circle of sources the main directions, forms and methods of regional researches and their role in the development of historical science were determined. The author came to a conclusion that the intensification of regional study activity during national and cultural revival of Ukraine in the 20s was changed by the decline of historical and ethnographical movement in the region because of Stalin repression
