Ukraine's Railway Transport. Based on a critical analysis of historical literature, scientifically compiled of original sources, the dissertation throws light on the three interrelated constituents of the theme under investigation: aggravation of socio-economic situation on Ukraine's railways and search of overcoming the crisis; negative tendencies in the cadre policy and their impact on the moral and psychological atmosphere in production collectives; causes and consequences of political repression's on railway transport workers. The results of this investigation and the conclusions obtained in the dissertation may be used in preparation of fundamental works on Ukraine's socio-econom ic history, in elaboration of curriculum and optional courses for higher-educational and secondary technical schools training railway transport specialists, and also in realising the state programme of perpetuating the memory of our compatriots who became victims in the period of Stalinist genocide.
