Essay

The thesis is dedicated to historical and pedagogical analysis of the process of development of lycees in Ukraine during XIX th and the first part of the XX th centuries. The whole picture of creating liceum education on the Ukrainian Lands is depicted in the work, also the thesis considers the genesis of content aspect of education, determines the tendencies and priorities of organisation of teaching process in lycees of Ukraine. The materials and conclusions drawn from the thesis may be used in studying history of pedagogics, in teachers' practical activity in secondary schools, when organizing gymnasiums, lycees, colleges, they will contribute to preservation and transfering of historical and pedagogical experience.
