The dissertation focuses on a topical aspect of professional and pedagogical training, that is forming readiness of a future teacher for the prevention of pupils' addictive behaviour. The model of the teachers' training for the defined direction of pedagogical activity is a theoretically grounded and experimentally based model . The theoretically and methodologically grounded concept "readiness of a teacher for the prevention of the pupils' addictive behaviour" is given. The conceptual point of the investigation is the peculiarity and practice of pedagogical prevention of pupils' addictive behaviour, determination of the content of the concept "readiness", its stucture, criteria and levels of formation. The proposed model of the "readinnes for the prevention of the addictive behaviour" system model supposes integrated psychological and pedagogical, methodical and organisational conditions providing corresponding efficacy of the theoretical and practical training of a teacher. The prognosis aspect of the introduction of the investigation results in the practical teachers'training in the conditions of contemporary pedagogical education. The recomendations oriented to contentional, practical, methodical variants in the professional training system were developed. 452
