Gavrysh R. School Activity of Zemstvo Self- government on the Left-bank Ukraine from 1865 till 1919.

Thesis deals with the issue of complex research of school activity of the povyt (district) and the gubernia (region) branches of Zemstvo establishment baxed on the Left-bank Ukraine in the complicated and contradictory period of socio-political life during second part of XIX - beginning of XX century. Thesis also generalizes the essence of the governing policy in terms of Zemstvo legal rights and duties in school activity, distinguished five stages in the history of Zemstvo self-government. Thesis analyzes in details major tenderness and forms of Zemstvo activities: educational establishments financing, teaching staff training, realization of general primary educational program, putting Ukrainian language into teaching practice.
