The objects are the Greek community of the Sea of Azov Northern area and its cultural and enlighten development. The aim is to investigate the evolution and the main directions of the cultural and enlighten activities of the Greek population. The methods are problem-chronological, comparative, analytic and statistic. The dissertation analyses cultural and enlighten development of the Greek community of the Sea of Azov Northern area during its 130-years history. The thesis exposes the influence of the all-imperial social-economiс and cultural process on the one of the main aspects of the social existence of the Greek population in Ukraine. There were received the results in the field of the history of ethnic minorities in Ukraine. The spheres of application are the historical and ethnological investigations.
