In this dissertation author researches totality of archaic elements in cultural complex of Ukrainian kozatstvo as component and integral part of Indo-European military tradition. In order we enlist large interdiscipline source basis; carry out complex research profound roots of basis elements of kozatskyi (Cossack) cultural complex (cult of horse and sabre, kozaky-kharakternyky (Cossacks-sourcerers), kobzari - singers of knightly glory, red colour, dzhury-molodyky (young warriors), connection the battle with the banquet, particular attitude to woman by kozak and so on); distinguish Turkish influence in the traditional kozatska culture; study parallels between culture of kozatstvo and late medieval knighthood of Western Europe; analyse the stages of forming the Indo-European military tradition and Ukrainian kozatstvo as his component. A conclusion is made we discover great quantity archaic elements of the Indo-European cultural tradition in general, when research the culture of Ukrainian kozatstvo. Th is elements have numerous parallels with the culture of medieval European knighood and go back to ancient profundity of Indo-European military tradition.
