The Dissertation is dedicated to the definition of the sources and evolution of liberal-democratic movement in Ukraine in the middle the 60th - 80th of XIX century. On the basis of the wide range of sources there have been investigated ideological background, tactics, forms of opposition of zemsky glasnies and students, the connections between liberal and radical streams in the social movement. On the background of the results of this investigation there have been pointed out the regularities of the general political character: priorities in the correlation between the state power and the opposition, the ways of reception of liberal ideas, mechanisms of providing of rights and freedoms.
