Essay

The object of study: rat brain. The aim of study: to determine the neurophysiological mechanisms of Medichronal effect on the emotional behavior and brain electric activity of control rats and rats with modelling of artificially attended addiction to alcohol. Methods and equipment: electroencephalographic, electrocardiographic and ethological observation; electroencephalography, electrocardiography. Theoretical and practical results, newness: peroral introduction of Medichronal to control group increases the frequency of hypothalamus self-stimulation, alters the brain electrogenesis toward fast rhythms. Introduction of Medichronal into rats with 14-days alcoholisation decreases the frequency of self-stimulation, supresses spasmodic activity. It was detected that Medichronal has normalizing effect on the cardiovascular system. Supression of alcoholic motivations by Medichronal is carried out through activation of brain mechanisms of positive emothional refreshment. The sphere of application: clinical an d experimental neurology, psychiatry and narcology.
