Research subjects: Grapes and vintage products contaminated with radionuclides, highly toxic substances and pathogenic microflora. Research objectives: To develop vinification technologies for extreme conditions. Methods: Methods for selection and analysis of contaminated vintage material and products have been elaborated and applied and highly efficient substances have been developed. Theoretical and practical results: Regularities concerning migration of radionuclides in the system soil -> vine -> grapes -> vintage products in the Chernobyl isolation zone and those concerning deactivation of vintage material and finished products have been investigated for the first time. Processes for deactivation, degassing, and detoxication of grapes and vintage products have been developed. Relevant norms and technical documentation have been provided. Novelty of introduced: New complex deactivation preparations have been developed (protected by seven Inventor's Certificates). Continuous processes for deactivatio n of vintage products have been elaborated. Implementation degree: The production of a new highly efficient preparation of silicon dioxide ("СПН") has been launched. 466 tons of the praparation were supplied to wineries by 1999. Effeciency:1724895 roubles in terms of value of 1986. Sphere, sector of implementation: Grape and wine industry.
