Essay

The thesis is devoted to the phenomenon of fundamental and applied knowledge in organic unanimity of philosophical and methodological, science of science, pragmatic and sociocultural aspects. There has been considered the problem of determining the methods of fundamental and 36 applied knowledge introduction into culture by means of fundamental and applied sciences correlation research, as well as of the notions "fundamental" and "applied" and fundamental and applied instrumental knowledge, conditioned on the appropriate social surrounding. There has been revealed the connection of fundamental and applied sciences with different forms of knowledge beyond science. The research considers the connection of fundamental and applied knowledge with the controversy "modern - postmodern" in mental formation of the civilization and the place of the opposition "fundamental science - applied science" in historical periodicity: classical - non-classical - post non-classical science. Thereupon an analysis of scientific rationality types change and its influence on the nature of scientific research and kinds of knowledge classification are given; characteristic features of the scientists' postmodern methodological thinking are determined. The thesis of the necessity to establish harmony between fundamental and applied subjects in the system of higher education is proved as well as the necessity of academic and university science organic unanimity in the spirit of time.
