Object: language components with significance of time in the fictional texts of the Russian authors (ХХ century). The purpose - study of the process of formation and unfolding of temporal structure within the fictional text, determination of features of it manifestation in texts of different genres. Methods: descriptive, grammar transformation, component analysis. Theoretical significance - results of a research enrich with the theory of functional grammar, linguistics of the text, communicative linguistics. Practical value: it is possible to take advantage of outcomes of work for want of writing of theoretical works on linguistics of the text, grammar of Russian, for want of to preparation special courses on general linguistics, stylistics, theory of the literature, in a technique of teaching of Russian. Novelty is in application of a means of functional grammar to linguistics of the text and communicative linguistics.
