Mikituk O. Theory and Practice of Research Work in Higher Educational Establishments of Ukraine in the 19th Century.

The dissertation is devoted to the study of an acute historical and pedagogical problem: theory and practice of organization and development of research work in higher educational establishments of Ukraine in the 19th century. For the first time the dissertation provides a system analysis of the formation and development of theory and practice of research work in higher educational establishments of Ukraine; the genesis of theory and practice of research work in higher educational establishments of Ukraine is presented: the stages and tendencies of the research work development on the basis of determinated analysis of certain historic conditions are defined and scientifically grounded, the sources of organization of higher educational establishments are revealed, the peculiarities of the development of scientific work in higher educational institutions in the 15-18th centuries are characterized, the formation of universities and their functions as centers of research work in the 19th century is examined. The contents and directions of realization of teachers and lecturers' research work in higher educational establishments of Ukraine in the researched period are revealed. The problem of scientific and teaching staff training and their professional development is further developed. The subject field of the analysis of experience of realization of research work tasks in modem higher educational institutions is extended. The pedagogical theory has been enriched with scientific knowledge about the evolution of the purpose and contents of research work in higher educational establishments of Ukraine in the period investigated.
