Essay

The doctoral thesis is devoted to groundings of more precise definition of "social geography" and its broadening as a scientific direction. Social geography can integrate studies of socio-geographical process for transition to sustainable development and to state of noosphere. There were grounded con-ceptions of "sociogeoprocess" and "sociogeosystem". Also was defined the essence of social geography with consideration of the new social order for forming of noosphere mentality of the society. There were cited in the thesis the results of system analysis of nature management as a process of interaction of soci-ety and nature. The theory of actogenesis concerning natural management was examined, conditions of purposefulness and of transition of a demand system to an aim system. There was formulated a principle of consistency of goals for developing of a transition to a sustainable development by a sociogeosystem. In the thesis was shown that development of modern socio - geoecological crisis is provokedby anthropocentric orientation of a society, mental discord of some societies. The way out from a global cri-sis is a transition to a sustainable development. There was also revealed a socio - geographical essence of a sustainable development and mentality of a society. The role of a social geography in development of noospheric mentality of a society is grounded, also widened a subject of a social geography and its functions. There were formulated the common socio-geographical conditions for transition to a sustainable development. The results of analysis of socio-geographical process in Ukraine are cited, there were also proved that Ukrainians regions have time and spatial patterns and trends, regions are heterogeneous by their potential and different components of their development. There were formulated the common socio - geographical conditions for transition of Ukraine to a sustainable development.
