Analysis of the results of investigation and treatment of 116 children, of age range from 1 month to 14 years with aortic arch and its branches anomalies and anomalies of pulmonary arteries, and also with cysts and tumor of mediastinum was carried out. Incidence, clinical-anatomical particularities and complications of intrathoracic airway compression (IAWC) of vascular and tumorous origin were studies. Classification of IAWC in children is hereby proposed. Tactics and methods of surgical treatment of different ethiologies IAWC in children were developed and perfected, taking into account depending on their complications. Use of these methods enabled to improve the results of treatment of IAWC in children.
