Essay

Object - tuberculosis of farm animals, changeability of mycobacteria and their epizootologic significance under the conditions of radiation effect, the means and methods of animal tuberculosis diagnosis. Purpose - to study of mycobacteria changeability and bovine tuberculosis epizootology under the conditions of ionizing radiation effect and development of new and improvement of existing means and methods of animal tuberculosis diagnosis. Methods - bacteriological (cultural investigation, light microscopy, biological investigation) electronic-microscopy, radiation investigation, immunology investigation, histology investigation, citochemical and statistical methods. Novelty - Different doses of ionizing radiation are responsible for promoting, inhibiting and sterilization effects relative to mycobacteria. Promoting doses of gamma radiation contribute to growth enhancement of reference strains and field isolates of tuberculosis agents and atypical mycobacteria on nutrient media. Mechanism of promoting effect of low doses of gamma radiation is based on acceleration of lipid metabolism in mycobacteria membranes within the link of lipid peroxidation. Promoting effect of radiation has been used for acceleration of cultural diagnosis of tuberculosis and sterilization one - for improvement of mycobacteria sterilization method. There have been determined peculiar features of histo-morphologic manifestation of animal tuberculosis under the conditions of radiation effect. Immunosuppressory and autosensitizing effect of ionizing radiation on tuberculosis-affected animal body has been used to develop methods of acceleration of biological studies of tuberculosis and differentiation of pseudoallergic tuberculin reactions. It has been stated that realization of measures envisaged by existing normative documents on the territories of the Ukraine contaminated with radioactive wastes due to Chernobyl accident ensure prophylaxis, diagnosis and eradication of tuberculosis in the production units. Investigation data allowed toimprove existing and developed new means and tools of animal tuberculosis diagnosis. They have improved technology of manufacture and methods of control of dry nutrient mediator mycobacteria cultivation. They have developed new medium composition that ensures acceleration of a method of cultural investigation of tuberculosis. They have developed a complex of active and specific means of allergic diagnosis of mammalian tuberculosis: "Standard mammalian tuberculin (P.P.D.)", Technical Specifications 24.4.00497087.645-2001; "Dry purified allergen of atypical mycobacterium (AAM)", Technical Specifications 24.4-00497087-697-2003; "Mycobacterial allergen solvent", Technical Specifications 24.4.00497087-698-2003. Practical results - developed a complex of active and specific means of allergic diagnosis of mammalian tuberculosis: "Standard mammalian tuberculin (P.P.D.)", Technical Specifications 24.4.00497087.645-2001; "Dry purified allergen of atypical mycobacterium (AAM)", Technical Specifications 24.4-00497087-697-2003; "Mycobacterial allergen solvent", Technical Specifications 24.4.00497087-698-2003 and worked out technique recommendations: "Effect of ionizing radiation on bovine tuberculosis epizootic situation status in the production units of the Ukraine" Sphere - veterinary medicine.
