Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the studying of cultural-epistemological and philosophical-anthropological approaches to the theoretical reconstruction of existing European theories of education. It has been emphasized that education as a sphere of human's life self-determination is a philosophical-anthropological background for contemporary theories of education. The notions of 'two opposite traditions of humanistics', 'humanistic structures', 'level of historical interpretation' and 'cultural model of personality' have been introduced; the term 'participation in culture' has been interpreted. The anti-positivist turn in education by the example of Polish pedagogy of culture has been analyzed. It has been shown the role of informational civilization and its linguistic component for development of education.
