Essay

The thesis is the theoretical, historical and pedagogical research of the classical Greek- Roman mythology and culture problem in the system of the school historic education. There was introduced systematized and analyzed for the first time the translated foreign as well as the native educational literature in ancient world history, antique mythology, art and cultures used in the system of native classical education in the 18 - 20 th centuries. The history of creation and improvement of the education literature in antique history and mythology published in XVIII - XX th. centuries is examined in the thesis. It is determined that the textbooks of the native authors were not just the copies of the foreign once, but appeared to be quite independent, original, bright works, hawing preserved their actuality and scientific value up to the present day. In the given thesis was an attempt for the first time to introduce and analyze the structure and contents of the school textbooks on ancient history. The thesis represents the results of the experiment of studying the subject " Classical Greek-Roman mythology" that prove the supposition as for the antique mythology as a modern subject having polyfunctional meaning in the historical and pedagogical reality was right.
