Essay

The monograph examines the basic formative tendencies and development of Ukrainian Women studies in the context of analogical processes in European and world historiography of the 19th-20th centuries. The ideology of woman's emancipation in West Ukrainian society during the 19th through the First third of the 20th century has evolved without interruption from the idea of woman's emancipation to a structured feminist ideology. In West Ukrainian lands there came into being typical European-style variants of feminist ideology especially conservative, liberal and socialist (social-democratic) brands of feminism. The typological identification of the ideology of the West Ukrainian woman's movement is defined by parameters, which are typical for the European national civic societies.
