Essay

The investigation is dedicated to a problem of creation of knowledge system about invalids' sport as a component of international Olympic movement and to theoretical-methodical basis of invalids' sport as a scientific and educational subject in the system of specialists' training in specialty "Olympic and Professional Sport". The investigations ascertained that sports movement of invalids is a structural component of modern international Olympic movement and it includes such universal complex competitions for invalids recognized by IOC as Paralympics, Deaflympic Games and Special Olympic Games. Names of these competitions reflect an effort to associate their activity with the Olympic one. Conceptual basis of invalids' sport, as a socially important branch, are developed, its goals and objectives, main principles, general and specific functions are formulated. A model of knowledge system concerning invalids' sport is created, including general philosophic, general theoretical and social-theoretical cases, its conceptually-informational modeling is realized. Historical analysis of formation and development of Paralympics, Deaflympic Games and Special Olympic Games is realized. Structural and functional peculiarities of invalids' sport component in the system of international Olympic movement are displayed. Chronology and peculiarities of formation of programs are determined, as well as nosologic structure and peculiarities of classification of invalids' games participants. It is ascertained, that Paralympics movement and movement of Special Olympics have relatively open nosologic structure, and Deaflympic movement has closed one. Sportsmen with abnormalities of locomotor apparatus and vision participate modern Paralympics, sportsmen with hearing disturbance - Deaflympic Games, athletes with abnormal mentality - Special Olympic Games. They engage in competition in various kinds of sports - both in adopted Olympic sports and non-Olympic ones, as well as in specific - nosologically determined - kinds of sports.Analysis of generalized chronology of summer and winter Invalids' Games has shown that modern invalids' games are carried out in order reflecting tendency of managing organizations of invalids' sports to structural and image localization: Summer Paralympics; Summer Deaflympic Games, Winter Special Olympic World Games; Winter Paralympics; Winter Deaflympic Games, Summer Special Olympic World Games. Periods of development of invalids' sports in general and its separate components are emphasized and characterized in the work. Main periods of invalids' sports development are: І period (1924 - 1948) - since beginning of invalids' sport movement till appearance of Stock-Mandeville Games; ІІ period (1952-1988) - since І International Stock-Mandeville Games till final forming of invalids' sports as a component of International Olympic movement; ІІІ period (since 1992) - modern period of invalids' sports development as a component of International Olympic movement. Tendencies of further invalids' sports developmentinthe system of International Olympic movement (such as further integration into International Olympic movement, making criteria of kinds of sports inclusion into invalids' sports programs more objective, relative stabilization of competition programs with extension mainly at the expense of Olympic kinds of sports, significant intensification of competition in Paralympic and Deaflympic movement; revision of some original statements of invalids' sports - shift in Paralympic priorities from rehabilitation to sports results, reduce of requirements concerning limitation of motor possibilities of athletes in several kinds of sports, inclusion of single-combat kind into Special Olympic program, regulation of Invalids' Games participants quantity using functional classifications, ratings and licensing, quantitative quotas etc.) are revealed.
