Essay

The thesis deals with a study of the dynamics of the form-building of the male genital organs during the intrauterine period of human development. The peculiarities of the topographo-anatomical correlations of the male genital organs with the adjacent organs and structures since the time of their anlage and up till birth, as well as the periods of their intensive and retarded growth have been established. Individual and age-related variability of the male genital organs during the prenatal period of human ontogenesis has been detected. The critical periods of the development and morphologic preconditions of a possible onset of congenital malformations of the male genital organs have been defined. It has been established that the rates of the descent of the testes into the scrotum do not always coincide with the corresponding stage of the fetal development. One of the basic factors of the caudal transfer of the testis is its Hunter's gubernaculum. The source of the formation of the lamina parietalis tunicae vaginalis testis is the processus vaginalis peritonei, whereas its lamina visceralis tunica vaginalis testis is the visceral peritoneum.
