Subject - the methodology of project management of development and functioning of the repairable technical systems. Methods. In the process of work three systems of knowledges and proper to these systems methods are used: common knowledges, instruments and methods used in the project management; knowledges and methods in area of general theory of management; the special knowledges and standards which behave to the application area (ship power plants). Novelty. A new methodology of the project-oriented management in the projects of development, creation and functioning of the repairable technical systems is the basic scientific result of dissertation research. Sociologie-technical approach to the design of the repairable technical systems is first formulated, which allowed to create a new methodology of project management of development and functioning of the technical systems; methodology of project management of creation and exploitation of difficult technical objects on the basis of hypothesis is created, that "life cycle of project " includes all phases of life cycle of the technical system from construction of models to its utilization; the mission of project of improvement of the technical system is definite; the model of life cycle of the technical system, allowing to initiate, plan and handle the phases of planning, production, exploitation, repair and utilizatsiii system, is developed.
