Essay

This thesis focuses upon the study of the theory and practice of the establishment and the development of the University System of Education in France in XIX -XX centuries. Social and political, social and economic, historical and pedagogical prerequisites for the field establishing have been analyzed. The main stages of the university development and the specific of the reformation of medical, law, humanities and natural-mathematical faculties have been defined. Before the Great French Revolution of 1789 the organization of University Education and the methodology of teaching four "great" disciplines such as theology, law, medicine and philosophy didn't undergo any radical reform changes. Universities and other higher educational establishments were not the institutions of independent and creative thought. The universities themselves during the New Epoch weren't the real centres of scientific research. They only delivered advanced views and scientific achievements to the students. Modern tendencies of Educational University System development in France, structural and content-rich renovations of universities in National University System which were stipulated by international integration process, particularly by formation of general European space of higher education; the structure of managing system of university educational institution which consists of the President of the University which is elected among scientific and pedagogical university staff for 5year term and three plenipotentiary University Councils; Administrative Council, Scientific Council and the Council on educational questions and students life have been deeply disclosed. There have been studied practical steps of French state on reorganization of Educational University System in the context of European integration of Educational System: new educational organigram in universities 3+2+3 (LMD) and new national diplomas of the second educational cycle were introduced; it was established the growth of University Education role in general system of national higher education.
