Essay

This work was undertaken in an effort at obtaining evidence for positive (Darvinian) selection in mammals at the prenatal stage of ontogenesis. To achieve this purpose there was estimated segregation pattern by genotype in mink offspring at birth from ++ ррАа х >> рраа cross-breeding. Nature of eliminating factors and time of their action were disclosed; Darvinian fitnees for рраа offspring that overcame the barrier of selective prenatal elimination was measured. For the first time ever comprehensive evidances in favor of stabilizing form of positive selection in M. vison at the periimplantation stage of development were obtained. There were formulated series of theoretical positions about the place, mechanism and specificity of prenatal selection
