Essay

In the dissertation according to the discourse-analysis methodology the Ukrainian drama and theatre art formation of the later 19th – early 20th century is examined. It considered as the reveal of the discourse practice of the realistic style, so some parts of the dissertation are devoted to the specification of the “great” style of the Ukrainian realism and to its comparison with the other foreign invariants. The discourse practice of the Ukrainian realism is determined in its drama and stage planes and this case ventures to outline completely the national “new” drama phenomenon and “new” art directed theatre, based on it. The aforesaid ideological and aesthetic peculiarities of the dramatic and stage naturalistic, neorealistic, neoromantic, symbolistic style invariants are correlated with the ideological and aesthetic complex of Ivan Franko, Lesya Ukrainka and Volodimir Vinnitchenko drama and are corrected completely upon the analysis of their stage versions in 1890 – 1910-s.
