Fareniy I. Cooperative Movement in Naddniprians'ka Ukraine in the Second Half of the 19th - the Beginning of the 20th Century.

The dissertation centers around the process of the origin and formation of the cooperative Movement in Naddniprians'ka Ukraine in the Second Half of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th Century. The thesis presents the generalized picture of the conception of the cooperative forms of activity and their conversion info the stable and progressive form of management. The work includes appropriate data concerning quantitative dynamics of cooperative organizations and population, the role of cooperation in controlling market prices of qoods and services and creation of favourable conditions for effective sale of the output of small commodity producers. The dissertation gives reasons for spreading of the cooperative forms of activity which resulted in the specific character of economic situation and peculiarities of the sentiments of the cultured elite. The work identifies the ideological and theoretic principles of the development of cooperative movement, determines the specific character of involving peasantry and the intellectuals in cooperation and the ability of various social strata of population to do certain kinds of cooperative work.
