Tkachuk P. The Land troops of the armed forces of Ukraine during the time of the revolution of 1917-1921

Object: the Armed Forces formation process, the methods of forming, staffing, training and education the personnel of the Army, its equipment and combat tactics. Methods: describing, comparing-historical, statistical, classifying and dividing into periods. Results: classification and typology of the historiography of the formation of the Ukrainian Army in 1917-1921; the peculiarities of the influence of the political spectrum of Ukraine on the defense building and their consequences on the fighting efficiency of the national Army are shown; the system of the developing of norms and ways of implementing organizational authoritative decisions on the Army formation have been generalized; the established organizational structure of the Army, its location, weapons and equipment, peculiarities of the tactics of the main components of the Army of that period, namely, infantry, artillery, cavalry, engineer and technical units have been reconstructed; the commanding and manning system of the Army has been studied, the system of the training and education of the Army personnel has been shown; comparative analysis of the organization and combat abilities of the analogous units and elements of the Ukrainian Army and Armies of the leading European countries has been done. Use: while analyzing problems of the military-political history of the recent Ukraine, developing theory and practice of the formation of the modern Ukrainian Armed Forces, during studies in the higher establishments and military units.
