The relationships between Orthodox Church and power-holding structures in conditions of geopolitica! changes before and during the Second World War in the South of Ukraine were researched in the dissertation, based on the diverse complex of sources. There was made a synchronized analysis of functioning of Orthodox clergy in the legal framework of totalitarian countries (Romanian and Soviet). There is shown a real sense of religion policy of Romanian power and church administration, organizational and church-administrative technologies, analyzed methods and consequences of realization of policy of Romanian Christian "missionary work" in "Bessarabia" and "Transnistria", were discovered special features of ethno confessional situation, social life of the clergy, etc.
