Essay

The thesis examines a wide complex of social and economical transformation in Ukrainian village which took place during 1991-2008. On the basis of the documents and materials first put into scientific circulation, the general evolution of political approaches of the governmental bodies and the attitude of high-ranking officials to the problems of overcoming of the Ukrainian village from the total crisis is analyzed in the aspect of modern conceptual approaches the place and the role national science in developing theoretical grounds of agrarian policy, the problems of achieving food resources security in Ukraine, reorganization of agrarian market was shown. The real consequences for social and economical development of the village and different forms of management activities are revealed. The origination of new economical relations are shown as well and the key problems in consolidating markets mechanism in system of technical and technological supply, investment, crediting, taxation, price formation are found out. On the analysis of different kinds of political and legal, social and economical factors, processes, connected with the settings of Ukraine at world food market are examined, particularly in such segments as adaptation to international quality standards of agricultural products, involvement of foreign investments, creation of joint factories, achieving of competitiveness. This is the first attempt in domestic historiography to investigate the place and the role of Ukrainian village in the processes of state formation, integration of independent Ukraine into the world and European institutions.
