Snitsarchuk L. Ukrainian press in Galicia, 1919-1939: political and legal operating conditions, progress trends, organizational and journalistic practice

In dissertation the legislation of the Polish State in the field of journalism and publishing business is analyzed, in particular an activity and influence of censorship on development of Ukrainian journalism. The process of forming and functioning of the Ukrainian press in Galicia are investigated in complex, tendencies of journalism and conformities to law are determined, the dynamics of development is found out, structural and functional conceptions are outlined, the influence of political, social and cultural factors is proved on typology of the press. Experience of journalists in complex forming of knowledge of the society is analyzed; the peculiarities of work of editorial groups are reflected, creative, organizational, economic problems; phase in the activity of professional societies are determined.
