Bilyi D. The Ukrainians of Kuban’: Evolution of Social Identities, 1792-1921

Object: the Ukrainian population of Kuban in 1792 - 1921. Purpose: complex analysis of transformation and cooperation of basic types of social identity of Ukrainians of Kuban in the context of social-political processes of end of XVIII – beginning of ХХ century. Methods: comparative-historical, analytical-typological, statistical. Results: first in Ukrainian historiography general history of Ukrainians of Kuban in 1792-1921 is investigated in the context of problems of evolution of its social identity, the analysis of economic and social-political terms, instrumental in integration of elite of Chornomoria in the general Ukrainian processes of forming of national identity is deep, it is found out that after disintegration of the Russian empire in 1917-1921 national and state-creative motion among Ukrainians of Kuban was directed on an association with the Ukrainian independent state. Sphere of use: for more complex illumination of history of Ukraine, Europe, Ukrainian east diaspore, the Ukrainian cossacks and opening of possibility for new scientific interpretations of role of correlation of social identity in the making of Ukrainian modern nation, during development of the special courses on a cultural ethnology, processes of creation of nation and state.
