The dissertation focuses on the historical and pedagogical analysis of professional and pedagogical training physical culture teachers in Poland in the second half of the 19th - the beginning of the 21st centuries in the context of those changes which have taken place in the system of school children's physical education during this historical period. The work also characterizes the most topical aspects of the organization and content of the modern system of physical culture teachers' training in Poland which can be used in Ukrainian institutions of higher education for modernizing the system of training specialists in this field.
